F.A.Q.

Q. Is there a minimum level of fitness required to start training?

A. No. Our workouts and exercises can be scaled to any level. We’ve had everyone from 92 year-old grandmothers to morbidly obese people, to kids go through the program and they’ve all been fine. You will too.

Q. How do I start?

A. Come on down for a FREE Intro session to get a taste of CrossFit workouts and see if RAW CrossFit might be a good fit for you.

Q. The FREE Intro was great, how do I join as a member?

A. Just come on in and sign up!

Q. I’m really fit and would like to skip the On-Ramp Program and come to the group classes, can I do that?

A. No. You must complete our On-Ramp Program before being allowed to take part in our group classes.

Q. But what if I’m really, really fit?

A. No means no. If you are really, really fit, we can scale up the workouts in the On-Ramp, or shorten the duration or the program depending on your progress. We promise we can leave you lying on the floor, sore and gasping, after even a beginner’s class.

Q. Do these jeans make my butt look big?

A. Yes. That’s why you need to sign up now!

Q. Will CrossFit make me bulky?

A. Read this helpful article written by a woman who is not bulky.

Q. I’m just visiting Midland/Penetang/Huronia, but I’ve been CrossFitting for so long that I kip in my sleep. Can I please come to a group class?

A. We welcome CrossFitters from all over the world. Please give us some advance warning of your arrival and we will find a way to work with you. Also bring us a t-shirt from your affiliate and a written permission note from your Coach. We have a ‘Drop In Rate’ of $20.00 per class.

Q. I just relocated to the Midland/Penetang/Huronia area, but I’ve been CrossFitting so long that I named my kids Fran and Helen. Can I please come to a group class?

A. See above.

Q. How much does CrossFit cost?

A. CrossFit is free, and a WOD (Workout Of the Day) is posted on our site, and the CrossFit.com Main Site. So why pay for it? Our members come because CrossFit works and it’s a blast. They come because RAW CrossFit members receive instruction and coaching from a certified CrossFit trainer in every class. Even the most elite athletes have room for constant improvement in all of the CrossFit exercises, from the basic squat to the complex Olympic lifts – so our trainers will always be there to keep you in top form. Our members also come because CrossFit is more fun and more intense with groups.

Q. What does the On-Ramp Program cover?

A. Body weight exercises, Slow lifts: Squat, Deadlift and Press, Metabolic Conditioning, Olympic Lifting: Clean, Jerk, Snatch, and choice WODs.

Q. Do you do private sessions?

A. Absolutely. Email us at info@rawcrossfit.ca for more info or to set something up.

Q. Do you take credit cards?

A. You bet! We take all of the following: cash, debit, VISA and Mastercard (and US cash at par!!).

Q. Can I have a receipt?

A. Yes.

Q. How much is a membership?

A. We have a variety of flexible choices, but CrossFit’s value can not be determined simple by looking at the price. Come in for a FREE intro, and leave will all the information you’ll need to make the right decision for your health and fitness!

Q. Do you sell t-shirts, water bottles, stickers and other stuff?

A. Of course. (Online store coming soon!)

Q. Do you have showers?

A. Yes! CrossFitters look good, they should smell good too.

Q. Can I just come and work out on my own?

A. Yes, but only after you have completed the On-Ramp Program. We will teach you how to move your body, and heavy weights safely and efficiently, then you will be able to join in on the group class time that best suits your schedule, or come in during the open gym times during the day.

Our program is suitable for all ages. We base our workouts around proper movement and then scale intensity to your needs.
